01Who this policy covers
AMG Athletes, a company/organization located at 46 Mohamed Hassnien Heykal, Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt, is responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy.
This policy covers the AMG Athletes mobile app for iPhone and Android, and the amgathletes.com website, including its sign-in page and its contact and newsletter forms. Most of what follows describes the app, because that is where nearly all personal information is collected; the website is described in its own section below.
Privacy, rights, and deletion requests can be sent to [email protected].
02What we collect
Account and verification information such as name, email address, phone number if provided, Firebase authentication identifiers, sign-in provider, verification status, and records needed to secure or recover the account.
Profile information such as username, photo, sport, club, gender or ranking division, position, jersey number, website and social links, rankings, wins and losses, badges, profile privacy choice, followers and follow requests, and other member-facing fields you choose to add.
Your date of birth, which is never shown on your public page. We use it to confirm the minimum age, to start profiles of members under 18 as private, and to keep analytics and ad tracking off for members under 18.
Journey and social information such as achievements, achievement photos and captions, automatic training milestones, profile and Video Hype, Showcase comments and mentions, reports, blocks, and moderation records.
Before a Journey photo is uploaded, an explicit-content model checks it on the device. The photo is not sent to an outside moderation service for that check. An accepted Journey image is re-encoded before upload, which removes embedded metadata such as EXIF and GPS coordinates.
Training and assessment information such as program access, completed workouts, video progress, favorites, offline-download state, notification preferences, Physical Assessment scores, assessment history, position, experience level, and an optional training goal.
Competition registration information you submit, such as athlete name, contact details, age or division, team or club, and registration status. The app currently supports registration only and does not collect tournament entry payments.
AI Coach information, including the message you submit and recent messages in the same on-screen conversation. The app can also keep a bounded chat history on your device so you can read earlier conversations; stored conversations are not synchronized to AMG Athletes servers or automatically added to later OpenAI requests. If you rate or report an AI response, AMG Athletes may also store the rating, relevant prompt, and response with your account so we can review quality or safety concerns.
Direct messages, including text, photos and voice notes you send to and receive from other athletes, references to existing public Showcase Videos you choose to attach, message requests and their accepted/pending state, read and delivery timestamps, and related safety records such as blocks and reports. Messages are stored with the conversation so it appears for both participants across their devices. Attaching a Showcase Video does not create another media upload. We keep messages as long as we need them to provide the messaging service, comply with legal obligations, prevent harm, investigate possible violations of our Terms, and promote safety — including after you or the other person deletes a message, deletes the chat, or deletes their account. We decide how long on a case-by-case basis.
Public Showcase comments, including the comment text, the public name, username, photo, and verification status shown with it, its Video, timestamps, and related moderation records such as reports, blocks, and rate-limit signals.
Coach and administrator content such as Showcase Videos, posters, captions and athlete tags, and Story photos or Videos, captions, audience, athlete tags, author information, and expiration or removal status. Members can appear in that content when tagged by AMG staff.
Purchase-access information from Apple, Google, and RevenueCat, including product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal status, and transaction metadata. AMG Athletes does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
Support and communications information such as support requests, the account and technical details included with them, email-verification messages, service notices, and marketing-notification choices.
Technical, analytics, and security information such as device and operating-system type, app version, language, IP address and IP-derived region, Firebase installation and authentication identifiers, Android advertising and app-set identifiers where available, Apple's advertising identifier on iPhone only if you allow tracking, push token, crash diagnostics, performance and security logs, video-delivery events, feature interactions, program and Video activity, assessment completion, and subscription funnel events. Release builds use Firebase Analytics and Sentry error reporting; development builds disable product analytics and error reporting.
Campaign and referral information such as campaign IDs, referrer or deep links, ad clicks, installs, sign-ups, and purchase or subscription events when a campaign or connected measurement service supplies or receives them. AMG Athletes does not currently upload hashed customer lists to Meta, TikTok, or other non-Google advertising platforms from the app.
03The amgathletes.com website
The website is a set of static pages served by Cloudflare. Reading it — including these policy pages — needs no account, and the site sells nothing today.
If you submit the newsletter form, your email address and a source tag are stored with Brevo, our email provider, so we can send AMG Athletes news. Every message includes an unsubscribe link.
If you submit a contact or enquiry form, the name, email address, phone number, and message you type are sent to the AMG Athletes support mailbox through Brevo so we can reply to you. To limit abuse, the website also counts recent form submissions against your IP address in Cloudflare storage for up to one hour.
The sign-in page at amgathletes.com/account signs you in to the same AMG Athletes account the app uses. It uses Firebase Authentication, Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise for the App Check verification that protects our servers from automated abuse, and reads your own profile from Firestore. Your browser stores the sign-in session so you stay signed in; clearing site data for amgathletes.com signs you out.
The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page views without cookies and without tracking you across other sites, and Cloudflare keeps standard hosting and security logs. The website carries no advertising or cross-site tracking code.
04How we use data
We use data to create, verify, recover, and secure accounts; operate public member pages and social features; deliver training, assessments, competitions, rankings, messages, Stories, Showcase, notifications, and support; remember progress; unlock paid access; provide offline downloads; moderate content; prevent abuse and fraud; debug crashes; and improve reliability.
We use authentication, purchase, device, and security records to enforce entitlements, active-device controls, quotas, rate limits, moderation decisions, and the Terms of Use.
Push notifications may include account or security notices, message and social activity, training reminders, and optional AMG Athletes news or marketing. You can manage available choices in the app and all notifications in device settings.
We use Firebase Analytics events and identifiers to understand app use, measure product and subscription funnels, attribute campaigns, and evaluate which external campaigns lead to installs, sign-ups, or purchases. Only if you allow ad tracking are selected analytics events, identifiers, and audiences shared with Google Ads and other advertising partners for ad measurement and campaigns, as described in Advertising and marketing partners.
When you send an AI Coach message, we send the message and recent chat context to OpenAI to generate and safety-check a response. Before an assessment is sent to OpenAI for an AI-written report, the app asks for permission unless you already granted the same current OpenAI-sharing permission through AI Coach. Choosing Not now keeps the standard on-device report and sends no assessment data to OpenAI. AI inputs are not used by AMG Athletes for advertising or sold to data brokers.
05Advertising and marketing partners
AMG Athletes does not show third-party banner ads, interstitial ads, rewarded ads, or paid placements for other companies inside the app. We may market AMG Athletes outside the app through Meta services such as Facebook, Instagram, and click-to-WhatsApp campaigns; Google Ads and YouTube; TikTok; Apple Search Ads; search, email, creator, and similar channels.
The app includes Firebase Analytics, a Google service, and no in-app ad-display SDK such as Google Mobile Ads/AdMob. Firebase Analytics runs only for signed-in members aged 18 or older who agree. The app asks once: on iPhone, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; on Android, the app's own Allow ad tracking question. Allowing it turns on both usage data and ad tracking; not allowing it turns on neither. In Account Settings, Share usage data and Allow ad tracking can then be changed separately. Only if you allow ad tracking do we share your app activity, such as installs, sign-ups, purchases, and subscription events, together with your device's advertising and app identifiers, with advertising partners such as Google (Google Ads), Meta, and TikTok, to measure which AMG Athletes ads work and to show AMG Athletes ads to people likely to be interested, including audiences built from app activity. If you do not allow it, Google's advertising-consent signals stay off and your app data is not used for advertising. Visitors who are not signed in and members under 18 are never tracked.
An advertising platform may process information about your interaction with an AMG Athletes ad, its website or landing page, and the account you use with that platform under the platform's own privacy terms. If you choose an external share destination such as WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Messages, or email, your device sends the link, caption, or media you chose to that destination; AMG Athletes does not receive your account data from that destination merely because you shared there.
Without your tracking permission, the app does not send app-collected advertising identifiers or in-app conversion events to Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, WhatsApp, or other external advertising platforms. The app does not upload hashed customer lists to advertising platforms. Before enabling a new advertising SDK, customer-list upload, conversion API, cross-app tracker, or similar use, AMG Athletes must update this policy, the applicable app-store disclosures, and any legally or platform-required consent or opt-out.
Depending on where you live, this advertising use may be called targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, or a 'sale' or 'sharing' of personal information. AMG Athletes does not sell personal information for money.
We do not use direct-message text, AI Coach messages, assessment answers, payment-card details, or information we know belongs to a child under 13 for targeted advertising. We ask for your permission before any tracking starts.
06Account security, devices, and downloads
To protect paid videos and offline downloads, AMG Athletes uses an active-device control for protected video access. The app may store a device identifier, device name, platform, and activation time with your account.
If you sign in on another phone or tablet and choose to switch access to that device, the earlier device can lose access to paid videos, protected playback URLs, and download preparation. Offline downloads are stored only on the device where they were saved; they do not transfer automatically to a new device.
Offline downloads may be removed from the device when you sign out, delete your account, lose paid access, receive a refund, move active access to another device, or when the app comes online and confirms that the account is no longer entitled to that program.
Sharing your login can let another person view or change your private account data, public profile, progress, purchases, AI Coach consent, saved workouts, notifications, and downloads. You are responsible for activity under your account unless the law says otherwise.
07AI Coach and OpenAI
The AI Coach composer explains that sending a message means agreeing to the AI Coach & Data Policy and Privacy Policy. The message and recent AI Coach conversation are then shared with OpenAI, a third-party AI provider. The app does not send your Firebase user ID, name, email address, profile, purchase history, or training progress to OpenAI unless you type that information into the chat yourself.
When a signed-in user completes the Physical Assessment, the app asks for permission before sharing with OpenAI unless the user already granted the same current OpenAI-sharing permission through AI Coach. Only after permission does AMG Athletes send the assessment type, position, experience level, and scores to OpenAI to generate the report shown after the assessment. The request excludes the user's name, age, sex, training goal, email address, and account ID. Choosing Not now shows a standard report generated on the device and sends no assessment data to OpenAI.
AMG Athletes does not keep a server-side AI chat history. The app stores up to 20 conversations and up to 60 messages per conversation locally on your device so you can read them later. Those stored conversations are for display only and are not automatically sent back to OpenAI as context in a later session. You can delete individual chats, and reinstalling the app or moving to another device starts with no saved chat history. Workouts you choose to save are also stored locally on your device. AI usage counts and cost totals are stored separately without the text of your messages.
OpenAI states that API data is not used to train or improve its models unless the API customer separately opts in. OpenAI may retain prompts and responses in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, unless different approved retention controls apply or longer retention is required for legal or safety reasons.
You can avoid OpenAI sharing and continue using non-AI features. You can withdraw the shared AI permission from Account Settings. No more AI Coach or assessment data is sent to OpenAI unless you later send another AI Coach message under the composer notice or choose Allow when the assessment permission appears. Withdrawal does not undo processing that already occurred.
08Public profiles and social features
Every member account has a public page that can be viewed by other users and guests without an account. Public identity fields can include display name, username, photo, website and social links, profile Hype and approved badges. Player pages can also show sport, club, gender or division, position, jersey number, rankings, wins, losses, and AMG-posted Showcase Videos in which the player is tagged. Your date of birth and age are never shown publicly.
Journey achievements, captions and photos, automatic training milestones, and record information can also appear on the member page. Turning on Private Profile restricts Journey, record, and tagged-Video sections to accepted followers, but the basic public identity remains visible and AMG-filmed Showcase Videos can remain public in Showcase.
Comments you post on Showcase Videos are public and can be read by signed-out visitors. The app checks comments for prohibited content, contact details, and spam before publishing; AMG Athletes may hide or remove comments and keeps report records needed for safety and review.
Private account fields such as email address, phone number, date of birth, subscription status, paid-program access, training progress, and AI Coach activity are never shown on public profiles.
A coach linked to a program can see anonymous totals for that program, such as how many athletes have saved progress, recent activity counts, and marketing spend. Coaches never see athletes' names, email addresses, or individual progress.
Members can update public fields, remove individual authored Journey items, hide available profile sections, use Private Profile for follower-gated sections, or delete the account. The current app does not provide a switch that makes the basic member identity page completely invisible while keeping the account.
AMG staff and coaches can publish Stories and Showcase Videos and can tag members. Stories may expire after 24 hours or remain until removed, depending on the Story setting. Other users can report a profile, Video, Journey achievement, comment, or conversation from inside the app; Story concerns can be sent to [email protected]. Reported content can be hidden pending review, and AMG Athletes may hide or remove content or tags for safety reasons.
Direct messages are private to you and the athlete you are messaging — they never appear on public profiles or in the directory. A first message from someone new arrives as a message request that you can accept, delete, or block; blocking stops them from messaging you. Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted. AMG Athletes can read messages for safety, abuse and legal reasons. Deleting a message or a chat removes it only from your own view: it stays in the other person's inbox, and AMG Athletes may keep it as described in Retention and deletion.
09Children and teen athletes
AMG Athletes accounts are for people aged 13 or older. Do not create an account if you are under 13. If the law where you live requires parental or guardian consent above age 13, you may create or use an account only with that consent.
Profiles of members under 18 start as Private Profile, which limits Journey, record, and tagged-Video sections to accepted followers; the member can change this setting. A teen account still has the same basic public member identity page described above. Public profile fields, Journey posts, comments, social interactions, and messaging should be used only with the required parent or guardian involvement. Do not publish a minor's school, precise location, contact information, daily schedule, or other information that creates a safety risk.
Parents and guardians can review or correct their child's information, request removal of public content, or delete the account entirely at any time — inside the app from Account Settings, or by emailing [email protected] from the account email address. We aim to respond to verified parental requests within 30 days.
If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, or was created without legally required consent, we will take reasonable steps to remove it. A parent or guardian can contact [email protected] to request review and deletion.
We do not knowingly use minors' personal information for targeted advertising and do not knowingly sell or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
10Service providers and partners
AMG Athletes uses service providers to operate the app: Google Firebase for authentication, app data, App Check, and Analytics; Sentry for crash and error diagnostics; Expo for push-notification delivery; OpenAI for AI responses and safety moderation; Cloudflare/R2 for media, protected video delivery, and app updates; RevenueCat for subscription entitlement handling; Brevo for verification and service email; and Apple and Google for sign-in, store distribution, and purchases.
Meta, Google Ads and YouTube, TikTok Ads, Apple Ads, and similar platforms may deliver AMG Athletes advertising outside the app. If you allow ad tracking, Google, Meta, TikTok, and similar partners may receive app activity and advertising identifiers as described above. The app does not upload customer lists to those services.
We do not sell personal information for money. We share data only as needed to operate the app, comply with law, process purchases, protect users, run support and safety reviews, measure or advertise AMG Athletes, or honor your privacy choices.
11Legal bases and international processing
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, AMG Athletes processes data as needed to provide the service and perform its agreement with you; for legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, moderation, support, service improvement, and non-sensitive measurement; with consent where required for AI sharing, marketing, advertising, or device permissions; and to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent prospectively, but withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing invalid.
AMG Athletes operates from Egypt and its providers may process information in Egypt, the United States, Europe, and other countries. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where required, AMG Athletes will use an approved transfer mechanism and applicable contractual safeguards.
12Your privacy choices
You can update many account and public profile fields in the app, control available public sections and follower requests, remove authored Journey items, manage notifications in the app or device settings, withdraw OpenAI sharing permission in Account Settings, block other members, and delete your account from Account Settings.
You can change your ad-tracking choice at any time: on iPhone in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and on Android in the app under Account Settings > Allow ad tracking. Turning off Share usage data in Account Settings also stops ad tracking.
You can limit personalized ads through your device advertising settings and through the privacy or ad settings offered by Meta, Google, TikTok, Apple, and other platforms where you see AMG Athletes ads.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, or opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or sharing. Send privacy requests or appeals to [email protected]. We may need to verify the request before acting and may deny or limit a request where law permits.
You may also have the right to complain to the data-protection or consumer-protection authority where you live. Contacting AMG Athletes first can help resolve the issue, but it does not waive that right.
13Retention and deletion
We keep account, profile, social, training, assessment, messaging, and support data while your account is active or as needed to provide the app, resolve requests, protect users, prevent fraud, enforce rights, meet legal obligations, and maintain purchase records. Public content can remain visible until it is removed, expires, or the account is deleted, subject to moderation, backups, and legal exceptions. Direct messages and sent photos and voice notes may be kept as long as needed for safety, abuse prevention, investigations and legal obligations, even after a participant deletes a message, the chat, or their account; we decide how long on a case-by-case basis.
AI chat text is not stored by AMG Athletes as server-side chat history. A bounded history can remain locally on your device until you delete a chat, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. If you choose to rate or report a response, the related feedback record may be retained while needed for safety review and product improvement. You can request deletion or delete your account to remove account-linked AI feedback and usage records, subject to legal and safety exceptions.
Analytics, crash, security, rate-limit, advertising-attribution, opt-out, and suppression records may be kept for the period configured with the provider or as needed to measure campaigns, prevent fraud, honor privacy choices, comply with platform requirements, and meet legal obligations. Aggregated or de-identified information may be kept where it can no longer reasonably identify you.
You can delete your account in the app from Account Settings, or request deletion outside the app at amgathletes.com/delete-account. Deleting your app account does not automatically cancel an Apple or Google subscription; you must cancel it through the store subscription settings.
14Security and policy changes
AMG Athletes uses access controls, encryption in transit, bounded access, moderation, rate limits, and other organizational and technical measures designed to protect information. No service or storage method can guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy when the app, providers, laws, or data uses change. We will post the new effective date and provide additional notice or request consent when required for a material change.
